These terms are written in plain language for a financial-literacy app aimed at teens and young adults. By creating a Nummi account, you agree to them.
Nummi teaches budgeting, investing, credit, and other money concepts through lessons, quizzes, and simulations. Nothing in the app — including the Coach — is personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and Nummi is not a broker, bank, exchange, or registered investment advisor. The Coach currently answers with automated, rule-based responses, not a human being; if that ever changes to an AI model, it’s still not a licensed advisor and its answers can be incomplete or wrong. Always double-check anything important with a qualified professional before acting on it.
Your $10,000 starting balance, every trade, and every dollar of gain or loss in the Investing Simulator is virtual. It has no real-world value, cannot be withdrawn, deposited, or transferred, and market prices shown may be simplified, delayed, or synthetic rather than live feeds. Simulated performance doesn’t predict how real trading would go — real markets involve real fees, taxes, spreads, and liquidity this simulator doesn’t model.
This includes the simulator’s crypto/“coins” category (Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others). To be completely explicit: Nummi never buys, sells, holds, transmits, or custodies any real cryptocurrency on your behalf, or at all. There is no real wallet and no connection to any real exchange. Prices across the simulator — stocks, ETFs, bonds, and crypto alike — are sourced from third-party market data where available and refresh automatically, but may be delayed by several minutes, simplified, or temporarily unavailable and shown as a placeholder; treat nothing in the simulator as a live trading feed.
Don’t use Nummi to harass others, attempt to compromise other accounts, scrape or resell app content, or interfere with the service. We can suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.
Nummi’s referral program credits an existing user with virtual investing-simulator cash when someone they refer joins and completes a qualifying action. Referral bonuses are simulated currency only — they have no real-world cash value, can’t be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged for anything real, and no purchase is ever required to give or receive one. To keep the program fair, we may cap, delay, reverse, or decline bonuses we reasonably believe involve fake accounts or other abuse, and we may modify or end the program at any time.
Nummi may in the future offer an optional paid “Pro” tier unlocking bonus content and features. It is not active today, and nothing in the app currently charges you money. If and when it launches, payment will be processed by a third-party payment provider (Stripe) — Nummi does not store your card details — and separate pricing and refund terms will be posted before you’re able to purchase anything.
Nummi doesn’t run targeted or behavioral advertising to any user, doesn’t sell personal data, and doesn’t collect more than it needs to run the app — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail. If we add push notifications for streaks or quests, our intent is to default accounts registered as under 18 out of nighttime sends (roughly 9pm–8am) rather than opt them into round-the-clock alerts.
Nummi is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Lesson content, calculator results, Coach responses, and simulated market data are for educational purposes and may contain errors, delays, or simplifications — always verify important numbers (like a real loan or credit card offer) with the actual lender or a qualified professional before acting on them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law: Nummi and its operators won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app — even if we’ve been advised of the possibility. This includes any decision you make or outcome (including from real-world financial decisions) based on anything in the app. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Nummi won’t exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Nummi will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nummi and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the app, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
Nummi is a student/educational project. This page is a good-faith plain-language summary, not a substitute for review by a lawyer before any commercial launch.
